Before we get into this, I’m working on developing a template for the film and book reviews I’ll be releasing on a more regular basis. I read the book Smart Brevity by Jim VandeHei, Mike Allen, and Roy Schwartz, the founders of political blogs Politico and Axios. Their model of short pieces with strong vocabulary for maximum efficiency and effectiveness in communication appeals to me very much, largely because I am an overwriter, stuffing my written language with more fillers than Oscar Mayer.
